S'COOL Lesson 27: Poetry in Weather
In this cross-curricular lesson, the student will identify clouds and describe related weather, then incorporate the observations into a poem. Students go outside to make cloud observations using the NASA/NOAA Cloud chart, and observe any special weather, such as possible rain or fair weather. Then, upon returning to the classroom, the students collaborate to write group or individual poetry to describe their observations. The Procedure, Lesson Links, Vocabulary (linked to an on-line glossary), and Extensions are provided.
